Black and White

I've always looked to experiment with creating black and white images. There's something about the contrast that I love so much about them. But with every artist, there are limits to what we can do in the real world. I find something to be off with the image above, unlike the image below. And as a photographer, I'm uncertain whether I should embrace this 'off' quality, or to stick to what I know.

This image doesn't look drained, there's life to it. With the contrasting colours along with the slight asymmetry of the image, seems to bring everything together. Where as, with the black and white image, it's like the petals of this Senetti needs to be perfect, symmetrical. The circumference needs to be perfectly circular, for me to see the beauty in the image.
Perhaps i'm wrong, and it's all up to those who view these images.
